I have owned two ball pythons for over 10years, my husband was transferred to France and I left my snakes to the care of my brother while we are getting installed. My brother can no longer take care of them and it looks like I am in France for many years to come.
Airlines do not allow you to ship a snake unless you are an approved carrier but they do not share the list of the approved carriers. I am also having trouble to find the correct paperwork necessary to be done. When I called the fish and wildlife service tehy said I needed a permit but for the permit I need to prove they were captive bred. When I bought them they told me they were captive bred but never got any paperwork proving this.
Does anyone have experience with transporting and paperwork for international travel for reptiles?
By the way I am attached to them so giving them to a shelter is not an option.
Thanks in advance for your help

You will need the appropriate paperwork completed from CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) and you will also need to ship them through an approved carrier like Delta Cargo. I believe other airlines provide cargo service for live reptiles, but Delta is the most common. You may also be able to ship them using FedEx, but they are usually used for national shipping.

You probably won't have to prove that they are captive bred, but it'll probably help if you can prove that you've had them for 10 years (vet bills, original receipt, etc.)

attempt asking somebody in this website that's all approximately shifting pets long distances a lot of tips and supplies, if theres a business enterprise which will pass snakes someoen on that website is particular to renowned. Southwest airlines won't delivery snakes. they easily have a a million puppy field according to individual ingredient so whether to procure them to allow the snakes you will possibly desire to take 3 seperate journeys to maintain the snakes aside or have 2 human beings flying with you. Jet blue has a similar puppy coverage. attempt air canada or westjet besides considering that your flying over canada you're able to commute with them if your keen to do a end over canadian flight regulations may be diverse in the direction of animals

Snakes are shipped every day through federal express or some other shipping company. Talk to someone who has shipped their snakes that way. I have received many snakes through the mail and none has every been harmed in any way. I believe this is the best way for you to get your baby's home.

You can ask the airline and see what options they offer. They'll probably put the snakes in a cage and store it with the rest of the animals.
