There are a lot of hormonal changes that take place in your body in order for labor to start. If its not time. No amount of walking will take place. Just be patient is is only another 3 weeks until you are 40 weeks which is what God intended for pregnancies to go to.
Now with all the NICU stuff women think its ok if the baby comes early and ends up in Newborn Intensive Care Unit. But many of those premature babies have some major problems that may or may not resolve by the time they get out of there. Have seen many an early baby pass on. Just be patient.

Not a whole lot you can do till the baby is ready to come out. I have heard that having sex can help though because apparently semen has a chemical in it that softens the cervics. I am not sure exactly what walking does but my doctor told me one thing it does is it makes it so the pelvic area can open up allowing the baby to descend into the birth canal. I'm almost 36 weeks now and I know walking really gets my braxton hicks contractions going so I don't know if it will do the same for starting real labor contractions. With my first son I walked as much as I could after my water broke and I think it worked wonders...labor and delivery in total were just 2 hours!. Good luck

Walking helps the baby to drop. Your water may not break on it's own and you don't really have to lose a great deal for it to be the mucous plug. My water didn't break on it's own for any of my children, and I never lost a plug that i know of.. When I had my third child, I woke up at 4:30, got to the hospital at 4:50 and my son was born at 5:05.I had had o doctor's apt. the day before, and I wasn't dilated at all.Less than 24 hrs later I was holding my son. I think you'll probably deliver in the next day or so. Good luck!

Sometimes you need a bit of energy to go into labour. I was in prelabour for a while, and I got hungry but couldn't really eat - a bit uncomfortable. I opened a can of peaches in syrop, and tried one. I couldn't eat the peaches, but I drank some of the syrop. About 5 minutes later I was in full labour and going to the birth centre - my daughter was born 2.5 hours later. I'm not saying that drinking pure sugar is the best thing to do, but a high energy drink or bar might do the trick.

With my second child, I was dilated to 5 for 3 weeks before I even went into labor. I am currently pregnant with my 3rd one and i have been dilated to 2 for about 4 weeks, lost most my plug 3 weeks ago and some more on Sat. and dropped also around 4 weeks ago. I am 39 weeks and 4 days and still haven't went into labor. Frustrating... I am so rdy.. lol
I walk, clean house, and have sex to stay active and i haven't dilated no more, just gives me more pressure which is more painful...
With my first one i took castor oil, although i don't recommend it. and my second she just came and this one i have come to the conclusion that it will come when it is rdy...
Best wishes to you!!

It helps you to dilate more.
As for your other question, just try to be more active. The more active you are the sooner your baby will come. You want to make sure your baby is fully developed first (lungs working and all) before you rush it, but as long as your baby's fine go for it. Just being active is the best way, and sex also helps. I know there are other ways, but I can't remember them all. You can talk with your doctor to find out more. They qet this question a lot.
I hope this helped. Good luck and congratulations.

It does all 3. I walked and did squats and had a lot of sex and then my daughter finally came out! I regret doing all of this because I had cramps/contractions from stomach and back, down to my toes. But she came out sooner!! I guess thats the plus side!
Go to www.babycenter.com for more tips and stuff it tells you every stage of your pregnancy and your little people it helps a lot

gravity helps the baby drop and the walking helps your hips move around to let the baby move farther down.
