My fiance and I recently purchased a 350 engine. The block casting number is 3970010 - this tells me its a 1969-1979 350. The Engine ID Code is V0607TDS, The V tells me it was made in Flint and the 0607 tells me on June 7th, but I cannot find the suffix code of TDS on any sites. And I don't to buy parts for the motor before I know what year it is. Does any one know what this means and, if so, where did you find it?

Even the chevy man doesn't know. They don't have the suffix code listed anywhere either. I know I read it right because we cleaned the block to make sure.

most 350 blocks from those years were all the same , except intake manifolds and so on so it really should not matter- unless it is an Oldsmobile block a COMPETENT parts store can tell you the difference

I looked in my Hollander's interchange books for those years and didn't find TDS. Went from TDR to TDT. I did find a TBS listing for a 79 Chevy truck 350 or 79 GMC 350.
