This is not abnormal. It may be a bit of bow-leggedness, but it generally goes away. Alot of babies and toddlers have their feet turned it. Mention it again at the next apointment, but I wouldn't be too concerned. Congrats on the baby!

My cousin has 2 daughters, ages 6 and 2 1/2. Both were born very early because she has an exceptionally small uterus - something they did not know with the first and she came as a surprise 3 months early. They were more prepared for baby #2 and managed to have her only 2 months early. Both girls were born with club feet and had to have extensive surgeries, therapy, and braces. But, they are perfectly fine now. So, if your baby does have a club foot, rest assured that there are numerous successful treatments. Babies sometimes get themselves into some odd configurations in the womb. If your baby's feet were in any way twisted before birth, it may just take some time for them to straighten out on their own. Listen to the doctors and get a second opinion if you are uncomfortable with the diagnosis.

This is normal. When the baby is developing, it is pretty much curled into a ball for approximately six months (the first three it's forming into something more human looking and is so small that it has all the room it needs). Try massaging the legs on a regular basis (say . . . at diaper changes) and you will notice an improvement over the next few months. Also, your pediatrician will be checking the baby out every couple of months or so for the next year and will let you know if there's any reason to be concerned.
Good luck and congratulations!

baby feet are turned in after birth because baby bones are still soft and flexible. She was cramped up in the womb for the last few months, so they are bent from the position she was in. If they don't straighten up in a few weeks, have them checked again. Club foot is very distinctive (it involves the tendons of the legs as well as the feet) and doctors are trained to recognize it.

I was born with one foot turned in. after an x-ray it was discovered that i was born with a dislocated hip. I went to massage therpy for awhile when i was younger. when it came time that the doctors were going to try and correct it the said that the only way was to break my other leg and pull my other hip out of place to match the other. my parents said no to this idea and everything was left the way it was. I'm am 24 and have never had a problem since. my foot isstill turned in but thats all

Get a second opinion from an orthopedic doctor. They are more experienced with club feet than a regular physician. Also you can go to the website I have listed as my source. There is a ton of information, including a picture, about club feet.

Ask your Dr about it. My husbands feet turn in when he walks and he walks more on the side of his foot, so does a lot of the family. I use to pin the back of the baby pajamas together to get their feet straightened out and also when I laid them down to sleep on their stomach as was the custom back then I would position their feet out.

My daughters feet sort of turned in at birth too. Once she was about 2 months old they looked better. She's now 15 months old and the left still curves in slightly but the peditrician said she's fine. He said her hip might be a little loose and we'll evaluate it when she's around 2. Might need a special shoe. I've seen kids at that age with shoes and they are all just fine. Just enjoy your baby, she's perfectly fine.

Her whole foot turning in to her legs or her feet are oddly shaped? It could just be a result of the way she was in utero. You can try massaging and gently stretching her feet. As long as her feet are flexible and can be moved into a normal position, her feet are fine. Many babies feet are turned in, up, or even out when they are born and they simply grow out of it in 6 to 12 months.
I'd dicuss your concerns in more detail with the pediatrician.

Our daughter's feet were turned in too right after she was born. My husband was very concerned about it too and asked our ped about it. She wasn't concerned either and said that she had just been sitting on it for nine months and it would straighten out on its own.
Sure enough, now she's a two year old running around with no problems whatsoever.

It is probably because that is how she was sitting on them for almost 9 months. If the doc isn't worried they will probably straighten out. The main thing to be concerned about is the hips, and if they are fine it shouldn't be a problem. I would keep an eye on it to see if there are any differences.
