The word blog is a mixture of the word web and log...blog. Blogging is logging your thoughts about anything on a website. And I'm pretty sure that Al Gore invented it. LOL.

It is a shortened form of web-log, an online journal basically was the original idea. it is basically just a way of getting your own ideas and thoughts out to others over the internet.
