i was on depo provera for 7 years and it took me two years to get pregnant and when i did i miscarried in 2005 at 4 weeks and then i miscarried at 7 weeks 6 days i then got pregnant again and I'm 27 weeks pregnant with a little girl the thing was i wasn't ovulating it took that long for me to start ovulating again but every thing is fine know and i won't believe it until i can see and hold her good luck I'll pray for you another thing i will never get on the shot again it is terrific for not getting pregnant but hell when you want to i think it screws something up in there but it'll happen for you i took prenatal vitamins the purple ones called prima care one but before i took those me and my bf were taking liquid Geritol so just try to build your body up and don' t do any strenuous excise and you'll be fine

According to literature given to me when I started depo - THIRTEEN years ago (lol!):
"Based on the results from a large study done in the United States, for women who stop using Depo-Provera in order to become pregnant it is expected that about half will become pregnant within 10 months after their last injection; about two-thirds will become pregnant within 12 months, about 83% will become pregnant within 15 months, and about 93% will become pregnant within 18 months after their last injection. The length of time you use Depo-Provera has no effect on how long it takes you to become pregnant after you stop using it"
I think it would be sensible to wait until you've developed a normal pattern of periods before you try to conceive. Good luck!!

I took the depo shot 1 time after my son I'm pregnant now it took 4 years.......But it's different for everyone....if you have been on it for a long time....it might take along time for your body to adjust...or...you could get pregnant in a week. It just depends on your body.

My sister was on it for about three years, it has been almost a year and she has concieved twice but had two miscarriages. I was on it for about 6 months but hated it, I'm not trying to concieve though. To be safe, I would wait at least 6 months to let your body's hormones return to normal. You don't want to go through having a miscarriage, it is so horrible and sad. Hope all goes well.

Took my a year and a half...I had myself tested after 18 months and no baby...turned out that the shot had stopped my body ovulating alltogether. I had to take clomid to restart ovulation. I found out that just because you get your period every month does not mean that you are ovulating
