Hi
My mum, myself and my sister all suffered with tonsillitis and had to have our tonsils removed.
My 5 year old son now gets it but I took him to a qualified homeopath and he has only had to have antibiotics twice. The frequency of the infections has also reduced.
I give him Belladonna when the tonsils are red and inflamed and Merc Sol if he gets white spots on them. It normally goes by the next day.
However as everyone is different these remedies may not work for you so you would be best to consult a qualified homeopath.
Try to keep your immune system healthy by ensuring you get enough sleep, eat a healthy wholefood diet, plenty of fruit and veg, reduce your stress levels, take regular exercise, etc.
Vitamin C and zinc are good for boosting the immune system. Elderberry is also very good for viral infections and is available from health food shops.
Don't forget to take a good quality probiotic to replace the good bacteria in your system if you do have to take antibiotics as they destroy the good bacteria as well as the bad.

Good luck!

Hi tonsilitus is a very bad throat infection and there is no other way you can cure it, other than antibiotics. You may be able to numb the pain with mouth washes or throat sprays, but the infection will still be present and may get worse. You need to get some antibiotics, it will clear up within a few days if you get them tomorrow. Also if you do get them alot you may need to have your tonsils out then you wont have to worry about tonsilitus.

I used to suffer from persistent tonsulitus and nothing would shift it apart from antibiotics , then it got to a point where even they didn't work and my body got immune to them. In the end I had to have them removed and I am so glad and relieved I got them took out as it was awful getting tonsilitus all the time.

I don't think you can.It will only get worse without antibiotics.I have had to go in the hospital twice because of mine.I waited too long to go to a Dr. and ended up having to go in the hospital and have them lanced and was given antibiotics through an IV.Tonsilitus can get very serious and it hurts soooo bad when you swallow. If you have it , you better get to a Dr. Good luck!!

True tonsillitis is a bacterial infection and will only get worse without a full course of antibiotics.

See a doctor. If this is frequent get them out, if you neglect this, at some point later on you will be forced to do it in order to avoid getting rheumatic fever and that affects your liver and heart.

Gargle with salt water, one teaspoonful per cup, and cut an onion in half and leave it in the bedroom while you sleep.
It works. Three days and bingo.

If you are not allergic, just take the anti biotics. So much easier unless you like being in agony for days on end.
