You CANNOT just copy the info over from one drive to another. The only way to do so is to reinstall the OS unless you have specialized software.

However, there are things you can do to cut down on the space used on your C: drive, and it's FREE.

Try moving the pagefil.sys from the C:\ to D:\ drive - it might save you some space as it's often several hundred megabytes in size. Rightclick My Computer and select Properties, look for Advanced settings for the Pagefile - drop the c: down to 0, and set it up on D: as the size it was on C: - then reboot.

If you don't hibernate the computer, disable that feature and free up many megabyts of space. Rightclick the wallpaper and choose properties, go to Screensave, then click on Power, then the Hibernate tab- disable the check box.

Also, you can move your My Documents folder to the D: drive and free up more space. Right click on My Documents and select Properties - you'll see the boxes there.

JustBored has half of the right answer. The other half is after ghosting swap the 2 drives cables, making the new drive the C drive and the old drive D.

Norton Ghost is expensive here in USA, so I look at the Sunday newspaper supplements for sales on Norton SystemWorks. I got NSWPremier with 100% rebate plus sales tax at Staples this year. Ghost was included in the package. Love those rebates.

An alternate strategy (IMHO better strategy) would be to leave the OS on the old C drive and keep all data on D. Your OS isn't going to get any larger, so there is realy no need to transfer it to the other drive. Also try to install all programs on D - some programs will not install anywhere but C - but give it a try.

Look into Norton Ghost. This will make an exact copy of your drive from C onto D.

I don't think it's possible since a lot of files are in use and you cannot move them, also data is written on that drive specifically for that drive.
You might have no choice but to have the install CD.

If you can get a copy of Norton Ghost this will do what you want. To purchase it is $69 so you may be better off buying a Winxp disk.
