Johnny Depp has played so many excellent characters it's hard to pick just one favorite. I really like Jack Sparrow though. Johnny is excellent in that role and I really don't think anyone else would have been able to pull it off as well as he does. I also liked him as Edward Scissorhands and Sam from Benny and Joon.

Hands down it has to be Edward Scissorhands! Who else could have played the way he did. With such compassion, believeablity, and overall self-pity. He made you feel sorry for his character and he made you feel like the character at the same time. And he only had about a dozen lines in the entire movie! It was all done by body language and facial expressions! Now that's talent! That is the role I fell in love with Johnny and it will be the role that I remember him in forever.

I like, Johnny Depp's role in 'pirates of the caribbean' as Captain James Sparrow, the most. He presents himself as a very funny and carefree character. And I think the accent really goes with him. Don't you?

I never really cared for Depp but he's a good actor regardless of what you think of him.
He's basically good in everything he's done, but the standout role has to be of Ed Wood in the Tim Burton film "ED WOOD". He's absolutly credible and plays it like it was meant to be.
Check him out in the very first Nightmare On Elm Street!

i admire Johnny Depp. he's excellent warm and a marvelous actor. to opt for a familiar is tough, yet i could say Edward Scissorhands. That action picture grow to be so touching and inspirating. Johnny placed his heart and soul into that function. that's a action picture that i admire and that i continually will ;)
