Probably not because the public, as a majority, doesn't go for that type of music. It was a different place and time when Elvis got his start in the 50's. Sure, people thought his music was weird and they never saw anything like him, but I think people were just a little more accepting then. Today, people want to hear brain numbing crap like Paris Hilton. Elvis rocks and I still love him and his music!

hard to say, as it is hard to tell what the state of the music industry would be right now without elvis presley having accomplished all that he had when he was here.
