If your asking how could the captain have saved the ship?

One would be the slow the ship after dark. Listen to the reports on icebergs and have gone father south.

The ship was the best they could make at that time. They were pushing that ship to its max speed and taking the fastest path. that is what doom it. Its sister ships were sunk in the war.

Waste of money, one..

two, it's too deep in the ocean and debris is spread out in such a way that you won't be able to pull everything out..

three, it's so corroded that it would very likely break apart in trying to save what remains

All we should do is leave it be...and remember it
