Why aren't ankle bracelets more poular than they are in the western world?

Question

Every woman I know owns at least one bracelet or necklace, usually they own many, so why are anklets so rare in comparison? I have a large collection myself and I always wear one or sometimes two round each ankle, but I have only seen a very small number of other women do this. A lot of women will wear more than one arm bracelet, so why not ankle bracelets as well? I also occasionally wear a slender gold bangle round my ankle, but I've only ever seen two other women do this, why is that? I think anklets look very feminine and sexy as long as they're not over done.

ithink this is because years ago you were classed as a prostitute if you wore an ankle bracelet... stupid i know ...but its still lingering with other things that passed from...olden days when people were " prim and proper" and the class status was important... but its gradually phasing out and so it should .... some things take longer than others tho ... but wear yours and enjoy they do look really pretty ....

yea ankle bracelets are sexy! well, dont forget the origins of the ankle bracelet, which is more eastern than western. this perhaps is the main reason.

if you look at indian women, u'l notice most wear them all the time, as its part of the eastern societies cultures. if this style was adopted by many girls here in the west in the past, then it would have grown as another accessory a girl should posess!!
however, not many western women wear them.

in my opinion they are very stylish if not over done, as you said :)

I, personally, hate anklets because they remind me of the early 90's when everybody wore them by the pool. Plus, I think they look trashy.

Now, I wonder the same thing. I love them and wear them alot, as well. But alot of american women are just to fat to wear them on their cankles.

usualy indian women and the arab ones. They are not too common in the western world but I'm mad about . I don't have one cause i want a precious one .

I don't know. I have a few of them myself but I can't find them amid the crap in my messy room.

Because you have to wear them with flip-flops and people (not me but people) who have foot odor will wear them, and then we will suffocate.

uh... i thikn you should appreciate that other people dont do it. it makes you more individual. Why would you want to be just one of many? Its better this way.
