I know that with a guinue pig you can't take them outside for 24 hrs after a bath and they have to be dry before you put them back in the cage....is it the same with rats? Thx!! :D

domesticated rats have a low tolerance for extreme temperatures, so I wouldn't even take one outside during the heat of August....I hope you are not housing them outside?

I raised rats/mice for my Savannah Monitor...they do not really require you to bath them, surprisingly they are very clean, keep themselves very clean...but no I did not wait to put them back in the cage and I had absolutely no problems with it.Good Luck!

rats groom themselves pretty well. just let them run around for a few minutes, and keep their bedding dry after you wash them.
