Assuming the Moon IS artificial, and assuming that by artificial you mean that the Moon was either built by intelligent beings or was placed in its current position by means other than natural ones, then that would mean that we are not the only forms of intelligent life in this universe, OR that there were other forms of intelligent life before us and it's unclear whether or not they still exist, OR that humanity has lived much longer than we think and that our ancestors placed the Moon in its current position knowing that it would make the Earth more habitable for its descendants and that the proof of those ancestors has been lost.
Those are the best crackpot theories I can come up with before lunch.

It would mean the Moon is made by something other than natural causes. And probably would prove the existence of Aliens. However, the Moon is natural, and has been around as long as the Earth.
