Keep the wick short. The shorter the wick, the less oil gets burned and the less smoke gets emitted.

You can shorten the wick but a tiki torch is still going to smoke.
That is not necessarily a bad thing as most tiki fuel has citronella oil in it and the smoke will help ward off mosquitoes.

they are smoking because you are burning oil. nothing you can do, unless you are able to find "smokeless" fuel. Good luck!
