- i don't travel much nor am i a real estate agent or have similar type of job w/ need for communication. He has had a cellphone for years for his own business and in general, but got tired of it and now sees no need for them.
I just want a phone for me.

I want to convince him that it will be money well spent - since it's 'our' money we talked about it and make the decision together, as a team. I am just looking for some input - not asking to be berated because I value my husbands opinion. And I realize that it's a 'want' not a real 'need'. (Emergencies aside).
PS: I drive a 05 Touareg - so I don't imagine much can conk out on it / leave me stranded...but all things are possible.

So go get one. A pre-paid phone can be pretty cheap. If he's so controlling that you can't even do this, well....

The link below says it's a guide that will ask you about what you want the phone to do, how you'll use it, etc. Then it will recommend some options you can choose from. Give it a try!

I am going to assume that you are of legal age since you have been married for awhile, with this being said, You are a grown woman and should be able to get a phone if you want. There are lots of different plans out there. Go and get your own phone. If he doesn't like it, then he can call you and tell you about it. Get caller ID, you don't have to answer.

Why do you have to convince your husband you need a phone? Just go get one. If you're implying that you get your money from him and have none of your own to get a phone, that is only problem I see. Stop relying on someone else to do for you, what you can do for yourself.

So get yourself one. Hello! Since when does anyone other than a child need permission to have a phone?

You don't need his freaking permission !! Go and get it yourself.

It is good to have it in an emergency. Lifke if you are in an accident or your car breaks down.

So go and get one. Why does your husband decide what you do and don't get. Its not really a budget issue. You can get them and plans dirt cheap now.

?????????Not sure why you need to convince HIM to LET YOU get one???????????????????????
