I am a white girl that has been in a relationship with my boyfriend(who is black) for awhile, we are soon to have a baby together. I really love him and he has been there and still is. But there is a problem....my dad. He is prejudice for some reason. He won't even get to know him to gve him a chance. My mom passed away and if she was here she would treat him as he is, not by his color. I don't see how to make my dad understand that he is a good person no matter what color he is.

Remember this.... Your dad grew up in a different time. It doesn't make him right, but atleast it helps you to understand him. When he grew up it was taboo to see inter-racial couples. There is nothing you can do to change his mind set; until he is ready to. You're in your relationship for you not him. As long as you're are happy then that is all that matters. After some more time with your boyfriend, maybe your dad might start to warm up to him. This is your dad's problem and somethin he can only overcome in his own time.

He may never come around, your Dad that is. I know that must hurt. Of course he SHOULD give him a chance, but ... give your Dad time and pray that the LORD gives your boyfriend favor with your father. Congratulations on your baby!

Have you tried asking your dad to trust you?? He needs to trust that you have made the right decision being with this man and having a baby with him.
