It's calle "fillers" that they use in liptsticks. They pretty much use leftover animals. Try Arbonnes lipsticks they have no fillers. I am a consultant for then. Arbonne.com ID15417194

At least they are using more of the cow. I'd hate to hear that cows are killed only for their steaks and hides and the rest goes to rot.

probably to keep it from smearing to much, keep it more compact or maybe it helps it decide what color it wants to become. what a question, lol.
