i completely agree!!!! health care should be easy to come by for those willing to pay , and for those who have the means to pay...... and for the person who said.."don't blame the government" they obviously haven't thought of the thousands of people who LIVE off of welfare and/or get health benefits paid for through the gov't. My Fiance has a great job that paid for All of his benefits, he was recently diagnosed with cancer and more recently exhausted all of his disability beneits. He is so close to 100% recovery and now his insurance company is saying that he will no longer have benefits because he's used all of his disability.
We are running around trying to find some way of getting any kind of health benefits just to get us through the end of the yr, but the gov't programs say he is recieving too much money from his social security disability (less than 800). I'm not racist and in fact I myself am a young hispanic mother, but I can't help but get mad when I see mexicans illegally here worming their way through the system and getting help that I, an American born citizen, cannot aqcuire for my own family.

Health care is a very serious issue here in the U.S. I work for a Medicaid Plan, and it is sad. Some people who don't need it are on it, and some people who do need it aren't. Depending on what state you live in the rules are different. I think the problem lies in DFS and DMS offices, they have so much work, high turn around, it isn't easy for them to do things in a timely fashion. I would look into getting health care from your local health department. They offer low cost or no cost health care for some things. Some non-profit hospitals have a sliding scale fee, it factor in what you make into how much you'll pay. I am sorry about your troubles, you probably didn't recieve the kind of care you deserved, but as a word of advise, take your baby to the health department for all of it's vaccinations, preventative measures pay off in the end.

The issue of unmarried teenage pregnancy's is far more serious than paying to deliver the baby. We should be providing services to prevent these pregnancy's because the expense to the public doesn't end there--it's only just beginning. An unmarried teenager with a baby is a recipe for a life long disaster for the baby, the mother, the mothers family and all of society.

The best thing to do if you need medical help is to give up your citizenship then enter this country illegally. You will get all the help you need especially in California.
If that doesn't appeal to you, move to a country that has oil. All your needs will be taken care of courtesy of the United States tax payers.
If that still doesn't do it for you, move to India and become a citizen of Microsoft Land. All your needs will be taken care of and all you have to do is talk on the phone all day as a telemarketer or help desk and pretend the call is originating in the U.S.
Oh yes, another wonderful option that doesn't require your leaving the country is to run for public office. The president and the legislators all get the very best of healthcare free of charge for them and their families and the president and his family get it ALL THEIR LIVES. What a wonderful benefit, huh?

Why did you choose to get pregnant if you can't afford the most basic care for your family and a baby? Please don't blame the government for your decisions.
