no, that isn't true. The way to be most comfortable giving birth is to relax and let nature happen. Yes, it hurts, but you can do it. When you push, sit up as far as you can and tuck your chin to your chest. Then push like you're having the biggest bowl movement you've ever had. Lying down is not productive; let gravity help you by sitting up or standing for as long as you can and try to remember that pain cannot kill you. PS If you get the TV channel TLC where you live, watch the show A Baby Story. You'll get lots of great tips on delivering although I've found that most American Hospitals don't have great delivery rooms. Birthing centres are much better equipped as you'll see if you watch that show fairly often.

That is at best an old wives tale. For thousands of years, (pre-hospitals) mothers gave birth standing up in fields that they were in to gather crops. I don't think they conceived there. Teens who conceived in the back seat of a boyfriend's car with their toes up on the car's ceiling don't need to jump into a car to give birth. Go take a sex education course or read some factual books to get smartened up. Ignorance about facts of life can be a real problem.

I've never heard that. I conceived by artificial insemination in a doctor's office so I'm not sure how I'd go about delivering in the same way. Having kids is not comfortable no matter how you do it.

I have never heard of that. No, it's not true. We are only comfortable when the baby is out and that could be any position that gets the baby out.

One is not likely to remember the position in which they concieved when they are giving birth and if when they concieved they were having good sex there would have been multiple positions. Birthing is usually done in the "on the back" position anyway, tho there are other ways it is done.

a woman has no way of remembering the position she was in when she conceived the child, so there is no way that could be a true statement. Sorry.

Ahh....... I don't think so. I remember the position I was in when I conceived and I couldn't imagine giving birth in that position - nor did I. Wow, what a strange question.

Gravity helps birth the most, so unless you conceived sitting or squatting on top, then your birth will take a bit longer.
