i think a better question is why people listen to (c)rap when there is REAL music out there. Anyone can make up nonsensical words to a drum machine after all. I guess a pc with a copy of Fruity Loops installed is all anyone needs these days

I think people like rap because the rhythm and baseline appeals to them. Rhythmic sounds are soothing in a way. The lyrics don't soothe me that's for sure. But if I could strip out the words and just replace the rapping with drumming I would listen all day.

How's rock any better than rap? They're both regurgitated from stuff that came out decades ago. At least rap is "only" 25 year old regurgitated music, rock has been regurgitated since the 60s. Why you people don't come up with your own music instead of listening to what your grandparents listened to is beyond me, but maybe your children will be the ones to destroy rock and rap. God love them.

I like Eminem. Hey, have you heard Blue October? I like em . Some of the music you like is too "noisy" for me, but I also like alot of it. Dire straits reminds me of alot of partying with my sis in the good ole days. I'm a little curious how old you are! I'm 51 so I'm kind of a dork.
