its my 16th birthday on friday and my friends say that i look old enough to get into the bars and stuff and my mam is happy with me going drinking.. but i've never been before so im a bit scared lol. should i just have friends round or go out?

I think you should go out with your friends to a non-alcoholic joint and enjoy being a kid. Older people will try to take advantage of you at bars. You're not fooling anybody.

Happy Birthday. I'm sure you want to have some fun and celebrate, but you'll never get away with. I still get carded I'm 40. Apparently, they have to card any one who looks younger than 27. I doubt you look 27.
At any rate, have fun and if you get to drink, be careful. Don't want to get a DUI on your birthday.

Maybe if your mom is ok with you drinking, why not have your friends over and your mom can buy you guys some alcohol and that way it will be safer.

Dont go out drinking. If you get caught drinking underaged you can go to jail. I;m not kidding. It happened to my idiot brother.
