Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. v-stars come in different sizes and models. Buy a shop manual. There's a lot of stuff to check & adjust and to invloved to explain the procedures here.
-Change oil & filter
-Check/change final drive oil
-Check the tire conditions & adjust psi
-Tighten spokes
-Check brake pads
-Adjust valves
-Adjust carbs
-Top off master cylinder
-Adjust and lube cables
-Top off and charge battery
-Check/change air filter
-Tighten all fasteners
-Lube all moving parts
The list goes on. Buy a shop manual.

Step 1- Take it to dealer
Step 2- Dig for wallet
Step 3- Bend over (and squeal like a pig)
