For example. More people believe that Nuclear power is bad. But in truth it's safe and clean energy. But they don't want to believe that because it's good news. They'd rather believe it's dangerous and bad.
People also believe that Bush is an idiot warmonger. They'd rather believe that than a brilliant man who just isn't good at public speaking.
They believe that the war in Iraq is going horribly wrong, instead of believing all the good things that are going on.
They believe in global warming, and that we're causing it. They'd rather believe that (bad) than the fact that the Earth has a cycle, this is totally normal, and the average temperature raise is only like a degree or so (good).

Why do people believe bad news before they believe good news?

SJ West74: Just out of curiosity, do you have any facts to back up your claim that Bush has the lowest IQ of any president in history? Because i'm pretty sure they didn't come up with any type of IQ test until probably about the 1950's. Also, Bush did get better scores at Yale than Kerry did, so according to your logic... we dodged a bullet there didn't we?

Here's another example. A poll I heard on the radio says that 1 in every 3 Americans believe the government played some major role in 9/11. Either by blowing up the WTC or helping to plan it. Something like that.

I admit there is always a brighter light shown the negative and if i could answer why I could probably find matching socks for a change,as it is well lets see yep one blue one black. However positive thoughts won't bring those deceased men and woman of our military. No I love to be happy, eat cookies and water ski but the threat of nuclear weapons are still going to be very much a real threat. As for Bush being brilliant well he has a lower IQ than any president in the last fifty years.I'd say your using the term a little loose.I guess Carrot Top is brilliant to huh.

They are more likely to believe "bad" before they believe "good" for a reason. That is most of the time, we are human beings, tend to make bad choices. Having observed this for years, one begins to expect the bad outcome--not the good one. It really is too bad because we often get what we expect to get. It is a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Not everyone can be put in that same category. The ones that see the bad first are more than likely the ones that don't have God in there lives.!
