I've read all of those books. I'll list them in order of my preference.

Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston (Very good story. Beautiful love story. But the dialect can be a challenge until you get used to it. But well worth the effort in my opinion of any challenges along the way.)

The Hot Zone. I read this book in highschool for fun. It had just come out. It was not my typical pick for a book. Nonfiction. But it was very good. I remember reading it quickly.

Jane Eyre. A bit boring in my opinion. Not impossibly boring like Wuthering Heights. But a challenge to keep my attention. It had good moments though.

Great Expectations. Very very very boring. I hate this book. But I hate A Separate Peace more.

A Separate Peace. Shorter than Great Expectations and Jane Eyre. But very boring, very depressing, very pointless and stupid.

The Hot Zone reads like a novel but it is non-fiction. It's very well written and once you get into it you can't put it down.
I would recommend you choose Great Expectations, since I have not read "Their Eyes were Watching God." You'll probably be forced t read Separate Peace and Jane Eyre along the way, and it would be too boring to have to read them a second time.

read Their Eyes Were Watching God; it is wonderful. I personally can't stand Dickens, Bronte is good, A Separate Peace is good, I have never read The Hot Zone. Zora Neale Hurston is amazing and you will probably enjoy it a lot

read their eyes were watching God by zora ,while i like jane eyre i think a lot of yr fellow students will pick it or some of the other books but the book by zora gives you more room for free thought and i think is easier to write a assignment on , plus i will say read the forward to the book last and as you read the book write yr opinions about it down to revisit as you look at the forward ,it changes every thing hope it helps:)

Great Expectations was really good! Its a real kick about life. Jane Erye is horrible no matter how much you like school. I did not like their eyes were watching god, it will be hard to report on. I don't know a separate peace, but think I want to read the Hot Zone now.

I read A separate Peace and Jane Eyre when I was in school. I would pick Jane Eyre. It's among my all time favorites.

A Separate Peace is an easy read but kinda of boring. Its about two boys in a prep school.

Great Expections and any Dickens books suck. I wouldn't even bother.

Jane Eyre is a classic and I love it but it is depressing.

Jane Eyre - it's an old fashioned romance with a lot of soap opera thrown in. It's a great story.
