Years ago I read a book about a tank battalion either possesed by the Devil, or coming from Hell. Mysteriously appearing and killing all allies during the war. The front cover was a demons head coming out of flames - and I think Metallica used the same picture at some point. Any ideas what this might have been? The book, not the picture.

Your description sounds just like The Devils of D-Day by Graham Masterton. One of my favourite books.

I think that this is a Shaun Hutson book writen under on of his psuedonems. Go onto his website at www.shaunhutson.com and go to bibliography. It lists the books he wrote and some are his war books under his penn name
