Well, me and my husband (boyfriend at the time) we drove to the place where we first met up, we sat in the car, we talked for awhile, then he said I have something for you. He took out his family ring, and said "my mom told me to give this ring to the girl who I want to spend the rest of my life with" I was so happy, and touched when he put the ring on me.

At a large Christmas charity event 3 months after we started dating. We'd picked out the rings after 1 month but I didn't know when or where he was going to propose. It was beautiful, in front of a large crowd, and I said yes. I'll always remember it.

I had an idea it was going to happen but didn't know when or where.
He lives out of state so we didn't get to see each other on Valentines day, so the next day I went to see him. I walked into the apartment and he said he had surprise for me in the bed room, so I go into the bedroom and there's lots of candy, chocolate, flowers and a big teddy bear on the bed. I'm so happy because it my valentines day gift...I notice that he doesn't come into the bedroom so I go to the living room looking for him only to find him down on one knee! I was so shocked! He was so nervous too, he then popped the question and I said yes of course.

I didn't push him into it or give him an ultimatum. I just told him that I wanted to get married, and I knew I wanted it to happen in the next couple of years. He proposed about a year after that. I did know it was going to happen, but I found out by accident. I really don't reccomend giving men a deadline, ultimatum, or anything like that. You have to know that they want it too, not that they're getting forced into it. Good luck!

He didn't, really. We had a series of discussions on the subject, and then we went ring shopping.
I think the "popping the question" thing, while romantic, is terribly... unuseful in terms of making a decision that will rule the rest of your life. I mean, you're just supposed to say yes or no right then? Where's the discussions about money, and child-rearing, and the future?

I kinda had a clue that he was going to ask but I didn't know where or when. It was our friend's birthday and we usually take all of our guy friends to the local strip club and get them put on the pole. But this night he wasn't interested in embarrassing our friend at all. We were talking and sitting at the end of the bar and he would not take his eyes off of me. I thought something was wrong. But few minutes later he took a ring out of his pocket and asked me to be his one and only. I thought it was kinda sweet seeing as how he could have been loving at all these naked ladies but he couldn't stop looking at me fully dressed. And we will be celebration our 1 year anniversary tomorrow on August 24Th.

I had NO idea. I came home from a crappy day at work, and I remember thinking it was strange that he was at the door to greet me, but really didnt think much about it. So I go in the house and it was around Holloween ( and he knows I love carving pumpkins ) So he showed me how he bought two pumpkins and already carved one, and saved the other one for me to carve. He said, "I even got pumpkin scented candles, will you grab them for me, There up in the cabinet." So I opened the cabinet & sitting ontop of a candle was this GORGEOUS ring- One that I've always wanted, he got down on one knee and asked me! I was SHOCKED... I had NO idea at all!!! We've been together for 3 years today and are extremely happy!!!

I knew he was going to, I just didn't know when or where...he invited me over for homemade chinese food and after we ate he offered me a fortune cookie. I popped it open and there was a handwritten note, "Will you marry me?"....he had carefully opened the cookie ahead of time and put the note in and then glued it back together. It was a very cute idea and I still love chinese food and fortune cookies to this day...=) We have been married for 18 years and have 3 kids.

My b/f (now hubby) was out of town for a few months working with one of his good friends. He's a crane operator, and usually in construction a few guys all load up to drive to the job. Anyways, he was on his way home and he called me, so i could meet him to pick him up. I got there a few minutes before he did. He got out of the truck and walked over to me and asked me to close my eyes. So I did, when I opened them, he was on bended knee with a HUGE stuffed Stitch Doll ( from Lilo & Stitch). And I asked him, " You are on bended knee to give me a Stitch doll, why?" He said " Open the little backpack on the back of the doll". I opened it and there was a ring box, I opened it and about fell over in surprise. He took the box, took out the ring (still on bended knee) and asked me to marry him. It was the cutest thing ever, after a little giggle or two, and a few tears, i said yes.
I had no idea he was going to ask me to be his wife. We had talked about it, but he would always say that he wasnt ready . Boy did he surprise me!!!
