People who are habitual liars don't always realize when they are lying or extending the truth.
The best way is to say "I don't believe you" and walk away. Otherwise you will be facing a losing battle.

All you need to start dealing with this situation is an opening. Next time they tell you something, if you believe it's a lie, just flat out tell them you don't believe it. This might start an argument, but it will definitely get the conversation started.
After that, it's up to you to decide whether or not you want to continue associating with this person. Just because you confront them, doesn't mean that they are going to stop lying.

It's a tough one, no point in confrontation. Just greet everything they say with a quizzical look, and don't tell them the truth either! For your peace of mind, it's much better to avoid them, if at all possible. If they are a guy, do not get involved on any level. if they are a girl, distance yourself

Some people just can't help themselves... I have an ex-friend that lies all of the time. I don't understand why she does it, but if she tells you the sky is blue you have to go and look out the window to see it for yourself. I'm sure a lot of it depends on how that person was raised by their parents...

if they lie all the time and u know it just tell him/her that he/she is a horrible liar the next time the person lies to u..

just tell them up front that you know for a fact that they are lying and that it needs to stop or your friendship won't work
