Honestly, it probably depends more on who is delivering the baby more than anything else. Many doctors will do a C-section even when it's not really needed because it's faster and more convenient for them, not to mention that it means more money for them them. On the other hand, most mid-wives will help with calming techniques and perineal massage to allow for a natural birth which leads to a faster, easier recovery. These, of course are generalizations, but really you should talk to whomever is supposed to deliver (or all the possible doctors/midwives that may be in rotation) to see how quick they are to take the easy way out or if they have a procedure that determines it for them and how willing they are to take your daughters wishes into consideration before they make a decision. Good luck to your daugther! Tell her not to worry, I had a big baby with not problems (not even a tear), we're made for it!

How big?
It could just be the baby's position.
It's also considered normal to measure + or - 2 cm on fundal height.
I would NOT assume a c/s based on anyting about how big they *think* baby could be.
Women's bodies are amazing. If a mom is healthy (no gestational diabetes, etc.) then her body will not grow a baby she can't birth. Her body will also change in the last days of pregnancy and during labor. There are hormones released to loosen things up and make room for the baby to fit out.

You will usually never know till the day that she delivers. Sometime doctors will tell you in advance that they might have a caesarian. But, now everyone MUST deliever unless there are complications or the baby is facing in a different direction. Good luck and best wishes!!!

Some people just measure bugger than others. It doesn't necessarily mean a c-section is necessary. I was unusually big after only about 4 months...a month later I found out I was having twins though. Are all her trisomy levels normal? If not there is a possibility.............

Possibly it depends on when she goes into labor. She could be able to still have the baby normally, it really depends on the size of the babys head. Good Luck to your daughter and you!

no it could not she could probably just have a big baby. the only way to do a c-section is if the baby's head is too big to go through or a big problem comes up.
