All birth control devices/pills contain hormones, one being estrogen. Estrogen feeds tumors. I developed huge fibroids and was getting D&C's on a regular basis until they didn't do the trick anymore. I went totally off of estrogen and my fibroids all went away. For birth control, you may have to go back to the old fashioned methods which I know is a pain but they are safe.

I have fibroids also by the way I am 25 and I honestly don't know.... I had the option to use that method of birth control but I ultimately decided to use the patch. Its very low maintence I only change the patch once a week for 3 weeks and the the forth week is the time for the menstral cycle. Like I sad I am not sure about that though. Me personally I wouldn't just too much going on there and I am not trying to aggitate it. But you should definately talk to your doctor about the pros and cons about it.

NO! I've said it once and I'll say it again. Birth control is poison-especially for Black women. Just about every Black woman I know has had fibroids, thyroid problems, and other health problems depending upon how long they used birth control. There are other methods of birth control without the steroids. See family planning.
