You can tell her that its want you really want to do and its the career you want.. or you just try looking for something closer or better yet convince her to get you an agent who will do this all for you?

Well Kara, you don't say what type of show it is, but at 12, you are too young to do it alone...so I would suggest that you let her see how important it is to you, and make a compromise with something else in your life...auditions are tough though, there are going to be many trying for the same show you are, can you take the rejection if you don't make the cut? Mom's are very protective of their kids, she may not think you are mature enough to handle it...show her that you are! I'm not going to say "you have many years to fulfill this wish" because I know that if you really really want something, that's the last thing you want to hear...so good luck!

If she says no then you are no doubt sunk, assuming you are too young to get the job without her permission. Of course 8 hours to drive is 2 hours to fly. You need someone to talk to her for you, someone who believes the squeeze is worth the juice. If not send them a tape of you and hope they will take that as your audition. It never hurts to try.

All you can do is show her that you're really serious about it and display a good amount of maturity when you explain to her.

try to prove to her that this is something you really want to do.... she could just be thinking that you want to do it, but then again you could just let it go and forget about the whole thing.. so just prove to her this is really important if it is.. btw, for what show??
