we have a situation with my five year old step daughter. Her mom's boyfriend has been hitting her and we have been told that we can file for an emergency order of protection for her. The mother will not give us his info. Here is what we do know: he attended school in Dexter MO, he is 29 years old, appox. 5'8", aprox. 165 pounds, first name Jason, red hair, short haircut, I think he would have graduated from school between 1994-1995. I also have pics of him.

We have been to the police...they won't get involved..they merely say to file for a restraining order. We live five hours away from them. DFS has been called and are currently investigating. But we want to file for the RO as soon as possible.

ok..what is your husband doing about this situation. You're the step-mom...you yourself cant do anything.

If it were me....I wouldn't care how far DCFS is....drive there...demand help....investigations...are well...a dime a dozen.

Are there marks left on this child...bruises....etc? have the child tell her school....pre-school...

Take pictures of the bruises. this will help with the investigation.

I would file an emergency Order of Protection against not only this boyfriend but the MOTHER as well. She's allowing this abuse to happen. Do the OOP when the child is visiting you and then call DCFS to let them know you have the child in your residence.

Any mother that allows her child to be beat should be shot!

and....why are you telling us? Tell the police and they'll find out the information. Now for a small charge of I could remove him from the home permanently. He'll find himself a new home in the middle of a creek face down.
