Okay, abortion is banned. The death chamber is working at fever pitch. Religion is back in the classroom, courtroom and TV room and Darwin is, I dunno, erased? War is big, environment is too old school to matter, civil rights take a back seat...

Am I wrong? What would society be like with no liberals?

It would be horriable, because in a short time the Moderates would be removed and soon the Far Right would take over. We would be Stalin's USSR in a few years. Scary thought isn't it? To be fair I don't really like the left, but like Govt I see them as a neccessary evil.

Take a look at pre-war Iraq and you'll find the answer. A country with no drive for science that is ruled by religion will never be competitive in the world.

When society is too busy studying the bible and having mandated prayer, it's hard to learn about Nuclear Physics and other scientific breakthroughs. When you believe that things only happen because a god wants them to be that way, then why do anything?

There may even be a return to WWII era persecution of things un-Christian causing a mass exodus.

There will be matial law as the important govt functions like education and police will be cut out of the budget, meaning that if you don't own a gun, you can't protect yourself.

Without education, or with only education based only on the bible, the intellect of the country will falter and revert to an earlier time.

All animals except pigeons, cows, chickens, and other farmed animals or pets will be extinct. Lakes, rivers, and surrounding oceans will be filled with sludge from factories and corporations. Children will have worse asthma and diseases, but won't have healthcare to pay for treatment.

The irony is that the US eventually would evolve to only include a certain class of people. Those that can't afford healthcare will be selected against. Those that refuse to kill things, will be selected against. Those who don't use a bible, those who choose a different lifestyle, and those who don't conform will be selected against will all be selected against. You'll see a social evolution, even though Darwin has been made a punishable word. lol.

Ok, this is just my opinion after seeing what Gonzales, Bush, Rumsfeld, and the rest have tried to push through and gotten beaten back by "liberals".

Every phone call would be monitored (see NSA wiretapping). Anyone could be arrested and imprisoned without charges if the administration sees fit (see Gitmo and arguements for). Torture induced confessions would be admissible in court (again Gitmo). Probably a draft would have been reinstated (judging from military actions taken and talked about in the past 6 years). I could go on.

However, if there were no "conservatives" many things would be wrong too. Government spending wouldn't be (well) contained (I know it isn't now, but standard conservatives are for balanced budgets, etc. Neo-cons don't care about that if it comes to military spending. And yes, I know Clinton was the first president in forever to balance the budget, but he did it with the help of conservatives.) We may not have gone into Afghanistan, at least not in an effective way (it is hard to say exactly on this one, many things would have happened differently, possibly including the prevention of 9-11 if there had been continuity in the administration). I'm sure there are other things, but its easier to pick out the failings of the conservatives right now.

Probably, Amerfca would return to its old roots, society would resemble a modernized version of the 1800's. That means the good (more morals, less spending, etc), but also the bad (bye bye to civil rights, gay rights, environment).

Think Iran.

A Theocracy. Ruled by a Priest-King who serves for life. The middle class would be gone and there would be only very rich and very poor.

It would be a Fascist Dictatorship. I think rightists would like that just fine. We have been heading down that road, but the rest of America is slowly waking up, and seeing them for what they really are-- not just extremist but incompetent.

Stupid libs...they piss me off! Maybe we should send them all to iraq for a few years. Alone with nothing, then they will be begging us for our help.
