I just bought a complete setup with tank, cabinet base, canopy, lighting, gravel, pump & filtration system, & decorative rock for $750.00. Did I get a good deal?? Oh, I also got 10 fish thrown in for free.

It is a glass tank. I have 2 -14 inch pacu, 2 - 7 inch oscars, 4 - 9 inch irradescent sharks, & 3 large plecostamous in it now. I had to get a bigger tank for them. They outgrew their other tank. I now have the "free" fish, which are 7 african cichlids, 1 shark, 1 catfish, & 1 plecostamous in my old 55 gal. tank.

Wow, did you ever get a good deal. One of the cheaper places around here has the tanks for $629.99 and the stand for $299.99. The hood is usually a good $50 added to it. Depending on what kind of light you got, you'd normally look at $50-$120. Gravel runs about $3/bag, and you'd need a good five bags to fill that tank. Air pumps are normally $30, and the filter can run anywhere from $40-$300 (depending on what kind of filter you got). And decorations normally run about $15-$50 each.

So..wow.. I want to shop where you shop!

That's not bad at all. You got double the capacity I did for the same money. Mine is an All-Glass Aquarium with an Oak stank and canope. This also included the cost for 100lbs of gravel, 24 feeder fish, about 10 platics plants, 2 Emperor 400 Biowheels, and fish food flakes, water conditioner, and of course the lighting ballast with bulb (probably about 40 watt Flourescent).

I'd say you got a good deal, and I should have shopped around more for mine!

Yes, you got a very good deal, how did you move it? A tank that big will weigh in at almost a ton with everything in it. Make sure you have a good solid foundation before you fill it up.

The water alone is almost 1600 lbs.

180 gallons? I would say about.....A LOT! Check out Pet Smart or sombody like that to see what they are getting for them.

Acrylic or glass?

That sounds like a really decent deal to me, especially with the base and canopy.

What kind of fish are you going to do?
