I am one of those women who knew I was pregnant by the next morning after having sex.
I have only been pregnant twice in my lift (miscarried the first time and had our fantastic daughter the second time), and both times, I knew by the morning after I got pregnant.
Can't tell exactly how or why I knew...wasn't having any symptoms yet, but I just knew. Didn't start having any symptoms until I was about 4 weeks pregnant (a little nausea, trouble sleeping, lack of appetite).
Hope this helps!

probably if you are having "symptoms", it is wishful thinking. Implantation of the blastocyst in the endometrial lining is not complete until about the time you would have a period, so there would not be anything there to elicit symptoms from. Sore breasts occur before non-pregnant periods as well.
However, anecdotally, some women claim to have known they were pregnant by the next day after having sex.....go figure.

You can get some mild pregnancy symptoms (e.g., sore breasts) immediately. A pregnancy test won't work until you've missed your period by at least one day. So, you can't know for sure until then.

I knew i was pregnant about a week before my period was due. I just felt different, cant explain how but i just knew. And you can get pregnancy tests you can use before your period is due.

Some people can tell right a way, but you really need to in tuned with your body and most people aren't that intuned.
