There are 2 basic types of accountants. CPA's and accountants that work in industry.

CPA's do audits and also income taxes. Tax season can be very stressful, but it only lasts 10 weeks.

Accountants in industry can do many different things. They can be cost accountants right up to being the CFO of a major corporation.

A lot of accounting has nothing to do with numbers. I took 2 courses in grad school that were on tax theory and we never even looked at a tax form!

Accounting at the upper levels is a recession proof occupation. When the economy is good, someone needs to count the beans. When the economy is bad, someone needs to count the beans.

Good luck

the superb way is to change into an accountant is to get a 1st type degree from there you would possibly want to have organizations begging to employ you. yet in case you havent were given this variety of degree then write to each and each of the right accountancy corporations; p.c., KPMG, Delliots and so on and soliciting for jobs. oftentimes you get replys and inteviews there are ok employment potentialities yet no longer surprising. If all that fails you ought to get a level on the open univeristy and repeat the superb step.
