Civil suit in court is pretty much your only option, unless they committed criminal actions in doing the hurt.
If you can't get justice through the courts and you can't heal the emotional hurt, then that's an enduring pain.
But healing is not always just about "letting it go". That's why counselors and psychologists are also a profession. There's more to the process of healing an emotional wound than ignoring it, just like there's more to the process of healing a physical wound than ignoring it. Deep wounds require treatment to heal.
Good luck.

Well first of all, do you think it's a good idea to stoop to this person's level by hurting them like they hurt you? Only you can answer that - only you know what was actually done. About revenge, the only thing I can think about would be to make public what this person did to you, being very careful to be truthful and avoid anything that can have you charged with libel. I'm not sure what it would accomplish, though, for you except making them feel bad. Will it get you back something you lost?

If you can't charge them with any crime, then there really is nothing you can do. And believe me I know letting it go is not an easy thing to do. Someone did hurt my family, someone who were thought were our friends. They went behind our backs and did the unthinkable, something none of us ever could imagine they would do.
For the longest time and even now, I want something done, I want them to pay for what they did. But nothing, no amount of punishment, would undo what they did. Nothing would change what happened. It's hard I know to forget, but you have to move on and live for today.
However on the up did, those someones lost many of their friends, for what they did to my family.
It will get better, trust me.

Been there! But, Revenge is not a way to repay these types of persons. The best way to "get em back" is to NOT get them back. People like this thrive on seeing others do things bad. YOU be the better person. They won't be able to stand it. Don't stoop to the same level they are on. It's not worth it. They will face their payment for what they've done. No one does wrong and gets by!

Fall back on the court of public opinion. Everybody has to live somewhere around somebody - you can make a person's life a living hell if you can make those around them hate or fear them.
Print up flyers describing what the person has done, with clear, ID-quality pictures of him/her, and put them everywhere they can expect to have social interactions (outside their workplace, on their street, in their neighbor's mailboxes, at their favorite restaurant, at their gym).
If you have strong evidence, or even a clear, undeniable story to back your claim, make a packet and send it to that person's supervisor, his/her current significant other, his/her landlord or the leaseholder on his/her home.
You can hire a private detective - fairly cheaply - to obtain this information for you. Whatever you do, stay physically away from them, and don't have any contact with them - you don't want to open yourself up to a stalking charge (or worse!).
If they want to claim that your allegations are false, they will have to sue you in civil court for libel. In America, this is very difficult to prove, and if your case is strong enough, you may be able to force a decision that will allow you file a follow-on suit for the damages done to you.
In countries other than America, the court of public opinion is actually stronger than the court of law. You might be surprised by how effective it can be.

no legal way for revenge.. anything you do, including just calling a person names can be considered harrasment.... best bet is to try and let it go. if they did something illegal to you, then you need to contact the authorities.. if what they did wasnt illegal, yuo justhave to let it go and know that Karma will get them in the end.

the best thing is to let it go. getting legal revenge is going to be hard. you could get other, petty kinds of revenge like slashing their tires or posting fliers all over their neighborhood telling what they did.

I know this might sound like selling out but GOD said that we must pray for our enemies and let him take care of revenge because you can bring damnation to yourself trying to get them back , in other words you are allowing the devil to take over trust me allow GOD to handle it and watch him work. Love Godsman.
P.S. they will get what they deserve.
