The Best Firewall is Sygate Pro Bcause It has hexa layered Firewall blocking capacity and apart from it it also has the tracing capacity back to the hacker . so even a hacker hacks ur pc u can send him back a ping or a trojan thru it . Secondly it has the maximum blocking capacity than any other firewall.
Best Antivirus used with this can be AVG EURO COUP7.3

1. Free for Home Users
2. Easy to use configurations
3. Regular Automatic Virus defination updates
4. Buit-in Firewall
5. Much much much better then Norton AV

Remember, you get what you pay for in life. I use the following:
Symantec's Norton Anti-Virus and Internet Security
Webroot Spy Sweeper
Pest Patrol
I highly recommend all three, but at worst case, use the first two on the list. If you don't and you are wondering why your computer is running so slow, it's because there are many virus programs running in the background, sucking the life out of your CPU.

The best free antivirus is called Avast. The best free firewall is called Zone Alarm. You need to have both on your computer as they perform different functions. I don't know about you, but I prefer to get things fro free if I can. You'll find both of these at Download.com.

i think trend micro pcillin is the best for antivirus, avira antivir is good too, i dont think norton antivirus is any good at all plus it can be hard to get rid of if you decide to uninstall it. sunbelt kerio personal firewall is very good and informative, whatever you do, dont rely on windows sp2 firewall or the windows defender, they are totally useless
