I love traveling and have been to Europe (the military sent me there) and Guam (the AF sent my dad there, but the rest of us [his family] followed)

I cannot imagine never traveling further then just a few miles from where one lives!

Tell me your story!

I did the Europe/military thing also and went many romanitc places but it depended on who I was with that made the difference. The first time I was in Paris was tops and then a trip to Switzerland...omg!

I dont consider my places exotic as such.....
Iceland was the most romantic, fantastic scenery and because the nights are longer and its cold its best to sit inside some candlelit bar.
One of my sons lives in Chablis and thats a pretty spectacular place.
The nearset to exotic was Marrakesh because it seemed quite alien and the back drop is huge mountains one way and rolling desert/plains the other - huge contrast.
Hi Dune!

I did Europe with the military too, to me it is just a weak version of the USA. We enjoyed visiting Costa Rica, it is one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

Malaysia and Thailand were also beautiful and exotic, we had friends to show us all of the best untamed areas.

Romantic; Mont St Michel, NW France. Monastery on top of a rock, with little picture-book town, accessible only by causeway (you have to move your car before high tide) and surrounded by quicksand.
Exotic; The Gambia, W Africa. Friendliest people on the planet.
