Don't know if that is true. Americans are highly critical people and will nitpick anything apart. Like high school boys taking apart a car engine to see how it works. The British are the same way.
Whoever said that quote, it's their opinion and it in itself is not based on fact, too.

Yes, people are dumb.
Example, People in India who claim that their idols drink milk and eat food, despite of the scientific phenomena called Surface Tension, affecting it.
Thus they feel their God's require milk and food, hence they keep their children hungry, but rush to feed their gods.
If you are sane person, you would rather worship a Mickey mouse instead.
