Start doing volunteer work at a local police department or court house. You can join the ROTC at your high school. Militrary training is very important in law enforcement which is part of being a detective. Your 15 yr you can take some college courses in math, psycology, sociology, and English. And read (go to the library (or the internet) about court cases & detective work: www.FBI.gov, www.amw.com-(American Most Wanted), www.lib.berkeley.edu.

A message to all young women. There are so many pitfalls for young women. Set your sites on a criminal justice degree in a University. Study all the science and math possible. Speak with a counsellor at high school and get the minimal requirements to enter a University directly from High School. Otherwise if you can't make the academic requirements (for some reason), don't give up. You can attend a community college to pick up the skills needed to survive college and get a two year transferable degree to a University in the third year. Specialise in any science area and work hard to be proficient in that area. Forget boyfriends. Boys and men lead women away from a professional life. You'll have plenty of time after school to have a serious relationship. It's called delayed gratification. You need to give up much of the social demands in order to excel in academics. Social experience is important but keep it to a limit. It's up to you. Do you want to push a baby carriage or do you want to walk on the podium to collect your degree.
Along the way you'll change your ambitions. Any degree is OK, just do it and stay focused on academics. Pick up on your reading and read the classics. Keep up with investigative technology. The web is a great source.
Relationships are very demanding for a young woman, so don't start anything serious. Definitely don't go on the pill so some guy can get his kicks. The pill will ravage your physiology.

A good start at this age. You have to learn the techniques involved in the field of investigation. First of of all you need to have a basic qualification to become a private investigator or to become a full time employee in forensic department.

You can find courses related to forensic science and private investigator in Penn Foster Career School or Thomson Education Direct
