well there have been talks of this happening but do tell how control would be enforced? Currently there are wars all over africa and they stay in their countries. We open the borders and there will be anarchy? How do we decide on currency strength?
Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana are neighbouring countried, SA and Bots have relatively strong currencies while Zimbabwe's is terribly weak.
There are so many crazy dictators on the african continent that we would have an african war on our hands....

That's too much to ask! There are hundreds of different peoples, cultures and languages in Africa. Look at the war in Rwanda between Hutus and Tutsi, that's just TWO ethnic groups!!! Why are they living in the same country? Because of artificial borders drawn up by colonists. There have been wars and factions between tribes in Afirca for centuries and these cannot be resolved overnight. I mean look at Europe: Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakai, USSR, these single states no longer exist because people couldnt find any common ground. What makes you think that Africa is any different?
Sometimes simplistic solutions like "one state" just dont work.

Australia is one country with different provinces, it's not a state. Africa's countries are very diverse culturally. They have been feuding for 1000's of years and take to racial extermination much like the Croations and Serbians did in the 90's. It's a bloody mess in Africa, it'll never happen.
