My boyfriend and I work opposite shifts so finding time to spend together during the week is tough. I have asked him before about mutual masterbation, but he dismissed my idea and told me he doesn't masterbate. But he has left solid clothes in our laundry basket lately. So I am confused.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with masterbation. We (men) could explode if we didn't do it occasionally. Pumping out that condensed syrup doesn't necessarily mean we are in an unstable relationship. I'll tell you some reasons that i know why we do it:-

1. You're away from home for too long, perhaps on duty. Your wife/girlfriend isn't available due to some commitments, perhaps on duty or not so well.

2. You compromise because your wife/girlfriend doesn't need as much lovemaking as you do. Let's say you need it four times a week, but she needs it once a week.

You just contradicted yourself ..."and get sex whenever" and "finding time to spend during the week is tough".
yes ...men will deny it, (while it's secret it makes the whole experience that much better) but...... they all do it!!! It might only be just to relieve some pent up sexual frustration. It's normal and quite natural for them to do so. (I think they would explode if they didn't)...so don't worry. Perhaps within time, he will change and open up a little more about the subject.

He may be embarrassed to admit to you that he does do it. ALOT of women (& men) get upset; as though they aren't enough for their partner. That is sooooo far from the truth. Most times it's just a quick release. And if the two of you have different schedules.....
And no, this isn't 'cheating', either.

Without being accusatory, sometime when you're talking, tell him it's okay. He'll love you all the more.

Such things can not be planned out.. There is no thumb rule when to get into fantasy... there is absolutely nothing wrong if your bf if he is off-loading himself after fantasizing hiself..

What you have suggested was also fine but instead of suggesting you could have done it, in that case situation might have been different.. This is a possibility..

The frequency of getting into fantasy might have been more in boys rather than girls... Only girls can best reply for this...

LoL! Most men don't like to do things like that with their girl friends around. I guess it's because it's something that they are just not comfortable with doing. I for one don't understand why it could be insecurity. The reason he tells you he doesn't masturbate is because he knows you will continue to bug him about making it mutual if he said he does. Just leave him be cause he will never come around and try it. Trust me I've been there done that.

Maybe he does not get enough sex since you do not have the time. It is better to masterbate then to have sex with someone else.

He is lying to you, if he says he doesn't masturbate. He probably just isn't turned on by the idea of doing it in front of you. Lots of men have hang-ups about that, because they were taught in childhood that it is dirty. It doesn't matter how much sex we are getting, we still do that from time to time. That's just our nature. My girlfriend loves to watch me do that, and vice-versa. Y'all just need to talk about sex more, but be prepared to be open minded. Don't judge him.

It is psychological and a fantasy they have to fullfil. Maybe the satisfaction derived from masterbation is more intense to them than with their mate.
