DFM solvent is a clear liquid, miscible with water and majority of organic solvents. It is a common solvent that is often used in chemical reactions.

An example of the use would be, as a solvent with low evaporation rate. It's hard to explain.

Check your library on it. There should be plenty of books.

DMF stands for dimethylformamide. It is a solvent used in the manufacture of polymeric materials; it is also found in some paint strippers. DMF is miscible in water and has a low evaporation rate and a fairly high flash point for a solvent. It is considered a potential carcinogen and is thought to cause birth defects.

DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide.

It's a high boiling solvent (~150 degrees C). It's polar and it's aprotic (doesn't have any protons/hydrogens to donate).

Other posters noted its hazards. I've used it as a solvent where you need high temperature and a polar solvent to carry out a reaction. It's also used as an extraction solvent in butadiene units (large industrial scale).

DMF is referred to a dipolar aprotic solvent. It is used as a solvent when you want to dissolve something that is polar but you do not want to use water.

N,N-dimethylformamide HCON(CH3)2. Good polar aprotic high boiling solvent. good for substitution type reactions.
