the spam killer and the darn thing keeps telling you to "verify" your spam killer by registering on its website, and well I dont want to register. But atleast 10 times a day I get the little red box that pops up telling me to. There is nothing on that box that lets me choose to NOT have them bug me about it and I cant find it in the settings anywhere. So my question is ( without throwing my computer off the 3rd floor balcony ) how do I get rid of that annoying alert???

Either register or get rid of McAfee. It really is not a good application.

Uninstall McAfee application(but first download and save to file for...)

Install AVG(free to individual users).

That is the easiest BEST(and FREE!) solution.

HOWEVER, you may be able to find under settings, setup, control, notify or elsewhere a place to disable. With XP(as it's quite often bundled) you can disable notifications via their (in)secure security center.

Next great thing(not) OS(operating system) coming from the Micro$oft godcenter will built in virus control. Yes I know it sounds like an oxymoron. And no it is not supposed to keep itself from working-lol.

Next if relying on Windows firewall, first download and save to file Zone Alarms(free). Then disable the microsoft ffirewall and install
Zone Alarm.

No fees, free updates, AND NO annoying pop ups!(plus a secure firewall but rumor has it that may end for Zone Alarm so act quickly).

PS Removing AV(antivirus) and firewall should be done securely(if in doubt remove power to your external modem or the cable that connects to your source).

Probably you have not original copy of that program
however usually by registering you can update the program while you can not without registering

If you bough the software legaly then just register it coz its useless without its updates. Otherwise I recommend Ad-Aware for spyware and AVG free edition for antivirus good luck!!

Uninstall McAfee, that will remove the warning. Or register it.

You can uninstall the program and reinstall it back and choose the option to not have you alerted for update.
Or you can go into opions of your sofware and change the settings.

Dump McAfee and go with Norton Antivirus. I had McAfee for a year and it was the worst experience of my life! Since then I've been running Norton and had no problems.
