Does anyone have a pretty good/somewhat reliable mathmetical formula for covering a cell phone in 2mm Swarovski crystals? Or maybe a good guestimate on how many should be ordered?

There's a site called GlitterRing that has a page ( http://www.GlitterRing.com/kits/calculator.asp ) where you can type in the dimensions of your phone, the screen that you don't want to cover, and it tells you how many 3.1mm crystals you need. Since a 2mm crystal diameter is about 3 sq. mm (geometry: PI x radius squared) and a 3mm crystal is about 7 sq. mm, just double the number of 3mm crystals they say you need and you should have more than enough for 2mm. Hope this helps.

measure the cell phone length and width (in mm) and multiply the two in order to find the area. then divide this number the size of the crystals in mm (2) in order to get a rough idea of the number of crystals to order. keep in mind this is only if you want to completely cover the entire surface (say for the back of the phone) for the front of the phone you're pretty much on your own there, although you do know that however many you order for the front it will be less than the amount needed for the back since the front probably has a display screen and buttons or something. hope that helped!

i might truthfully get the $250. Blinged out cellular telephones are not even that huge-unfold anymore. I had a pal who have been given hers lined in Swarovski crystals a pair of years in the past, and he or she ended up taking all of them off returned a week or 2 later because of the fact she felt like it became into in basic terms way too lots bling. besides, they sell kits with crystals, applicators and glue for $15 - $20 while you're prepared to do it your self. while you're so reason on getting your cellular blinged out, you will possibly desire to do it your self and spend something on some thing else.
