They say, and you know them, anyway, they say that there are only 2% of the worlds population that runs the world. Of the 98% of the worlds population that is left, only 2% are the free thinkers. 96% of the worlds population will have you tell them what to watch, read, believe, and so on. I was going to ask the question on here, "What is it that you feel when you read some non-traditional questions?" I have to be honest, there are questions that really intrique me and are of a sexual nature, but I am worried about answering them, not knowing what will happen as a result. Pretty lame I know, but with "big brother" sticking their nose in everywhere, this could be career suicide for me. The nature of this site, as I understand it, is to get real answers to real questions, and there should not be people afraid to join in honest discorse. That is the beauty of freedom of speech, and the way to continue unity, and trust. I think censorship on the level that we are experiencing is controling to the max, and I don't agree with it. The government is afraid of free thinking, and so are those that do what the government tell them to do. If you have children, it is up to you to teach them, that is not the governments job, nor right. Are we not capable of discerning what we expose our children to? And furthermore, is it your right to decide for everyone else just because that is what you believe? No. THere is something that God gave everyone and that is free will. Who thinks that they are better than God to take that away?

It's because of long-time thinking and experiences of the board of censorship. You're just one being, one mind. While the people who thought of the idea of censorship, they are many, and all of them agreed of the same thought. What could they have thought? In this world, different people are of different ages. Some viewers who might have the chance to see such movies which are only applicable for adults might misunderstand thoughts and lead to disaster. The disasters I'm talking about are those experiences gained by the board of censorship. Satisfied?

Some censorship is necessary, however only as protection for children, i.e. preventing them from being exposed to traumatic images. When adults are censored that would suggest a fear of free thought.

That's a good question. I feel the religious Right has a lot to do with censorship.

well if the guy who raped John Benet Ramsey was able to get everyone to think like him then wed have a lot more 6 year old girls being raped.
and if any person with corrupt views could spread their opinions then our society would be even worse.
that is why we need censorship. many adults are mentally strong enough to protect themselves to some degree... but children are not.

Its ok to have free thought. The problem lies when you force your thoughts onto someone else, infringing(sp) on their rights. If they want to hear you, its their decision to make, not yours.
