Yes.
In the same way that high and low pressure weather systems rotate differently in the northern and southern hemispheres.
Water going down the plughole is a low pressure system
and so rotates anti-clockwise north of the equator.
On the equator NOTHING!!

ITS A MYTH!! supposedly due to the rotation of the earth affecting the waters inertia.
Actually it depends on the size of the plug hole, size of the tap, speed of water, and other variables, which way round it drains away.

mine goes to the right, but I've never noticed if it always goes in that direction, and it depends on which side of the bath your on-as people have different placements of their bathrooms.

Something to do with North /South Pole magnetism which way goes depends on which side of equator your on.
