Aaaahhh the joys of getting free music from P2P software....it's quite possible it was something as simple as a file error which didn't show up until the downloading program was closed or might be something horrible like a virus along with the music you downloaded.

Best option now is to delete Limewire and the troublesome files run a complete anti-virus check and then start using something like WinMX or Shareara which has no spyware embedded and less troubles like this.

Limewire has spyware that is added on to the program during install. Its kinda common with per to per programs. Download a spyware program (Adaware SE). Run a scan and it should find some crap thats making your system run sqrewy. Limewire should work fine and spyware free.
