A formal evening wedding requires a formal dress. Don't get an evening gown, but look for something that you would wear to a prom.
No white, or shades of white, that's reserved for the bride only.
Above the knee length or calf length, you don't want your dress dragging in the sand.
Low pumps or flats for easier walking.
Whatever colors look good on you are fine. Black has become more acceptable, but I would think it may not be the best choice for outside during the summer. Maybe some lighter and/or brighter summer type colors.
Just some styles:

A knee-length dress, very light material with no sleeves, pink is always good I think - not really pastel pink but a nice bright-but-not-too-bight pink.
Shoes, nice sandals, no heels if it's on the beach, flat and simple.
Make the shoes a paler pink to run two shades of pink togetehr, then also use a pale pink bag to keep that two-shade theme going.
For accessories, possibly a shawl, scarf or very light cardigan.

Go with light, airy colors such as pinks, oranges, and yellows. The dress length should fall just below the knee and for shoes I'd suggest heeled sandals or flat ones with fancy embellishment.

Wear something summery!! Like a flowey knee high cotton skirt! Then wear a satin cami with a blazer the color of your skirt! Or if you think that it is to hot to wear a blazer, buy a knee high length or lower dress with a pair of heels add on a cropped jacket with to die for accessories!

you want to detect a gown it quite is in between a sunlight gown and a cocktail gown. something mild and breezy in a silk chiffon might want to be sensible. No cotton if that is a nighttime affair. also, positioned on low heels or residences or you'd be sinking into the sand all nighttime lengthy. Be user-friendly on the earrings. Sparkly is okay, yet no longer too a lot. positioned on a wrap because it would want to easily get rather cool in the nighttime.
